A Radical Approach To Dating

I recently received this letter from one of my favorite fellow advice bloggers:

Dear Lauren the musical advisor,

I seem to have a hard time telling if a girl is crazy about me because she is crazy about me or because she is just crazy. It's hard, because, when girls are just crazy, they don't actually care about you... despite all the attention and "love" they give and ask for. I don't want to start being suspicious that every girl who wants me is that crazy. But I also don't want to settle for someone who is so sane that she becomes depressing, is loyal only because she appreciates security, or is just plain not that sexually interesting. Please give me a song about this subject!

Sincerely,

Anonymous fellow advice blogger

It was a letter that made me think. You'd think that because I am a girl I should have some profound insight into this type of thing. I really don't. But that won't stop me from singing about it.

And as I promised in the song, here is an application I created that can be used to screen potential love interests.

It's only two pages long. Click on each page to make it bigger. You can then drag it onto your desktop, print it out, and whip it out on a first date. I tried my best to make it gender neutral so that all of my readers can use it. Hopefully it will make dating a little easier and ultimately make the world a happier place.

Anyway, that's all for now! If you need any advice in the form of a song, be sure to email me! Also, I'm interested to hear your relationship application success stories. Hehe.

Over and out.

P.S: If you ever need relationship advice that is not completely ridiculous (i.e: advice that is actually helpful), visit this blog. :D

Look! I'm Alive!

Ack. I feel like it has taken me a million years to get a new song up here. I'm sorry it's taken me so long. Also, I apologize for missing any time-sensitive letters.

I am not dead or dying or anything like that. I really don't have a good excuse for not posting for an entire month. I just fell into a songwriting slump and found myself incapable of writing any music. It was awful but happens from time to time and is just a part of the creative process.

Ironically, one of the letters sitting in my inbox was asking for advice on writing. This is what it said:

I love to write, but I've been having trouble getting started lately. Well, I just haven't had a whole lot of time. Suggestions?

-Sarah

Tonight, I finally overcame my month-long creative dryspell and hammered out a response. It's not the best but hopefully it's better than a poke in the eye.

So, there you have it - The Musical Advice Column is back. :)

Need advice in the form of a song? Shoot me an email. I would love to hear from YOU!

Thanks for tuning in, amigos! I promise I won't wait a month this time to supply you with a new song. In the meantime, you can leave me comment love and let me know what you think of this song. :)

Over and out.
